Exceptional antique Swedish 18th century Gustavian writing desk, veneered in mahogany with a very nice and subtle patina. Scandinavian, Sweden, circa 1790.
Very good condition with wear consistent with age and use. The top features an inset dark green professionally re leathered writing surface. The front with nine drawers surrounding the kneehole, full-length top drawer with historically changed handles and second drawer from top containing two compartments with sliding lids. The sides with one door each, containing two shelves each. Top gallery with sliding doors containing twelve drawers and four compartments. All raised on tapering legs on brass castors.
