Turned and lacquered wood stool by Kay Fisker (1893 - 1965). A very similar version was exhibited in the Danish Pavilion at the Paris World fair 1925.

Literature: Miriam Gelfer-Jørgensen. “Herculanum paa Sjælland”, pp. 353–54 for the stool in the same style depicted and described. Produced by V.Bloch Jørgensen.

Kay Otto Fisker (born 14 February 1893 in Frederiksberg, died 21 June 1965) was a Danish architect and professor at the Academy of Fine Arts. He was an exponent of a nationally shaped version of international functionalism and having trained architects and designers such as Finn Juhl, Kay Fisker designed his furniture pieces with the greatest architectural precision and quality as seen in the model here.
