Exceptional early 19th century Gustavian chest of drawers veneered with amaranth, birch, jacaranda and maple. Limestone top, gilt brass fittings, à la greque upper case and sides, front with marquetry symbolising seafaring and commerce with emblems of Mercury's helmet etc. Master work, Stockholm, Sweden ca 1800.
Good condition with minor historical veneer replacements. Wear consistent with age and use.
