Fine pair of 19th century Swedish Empire chairs veneered with mahogany after a drawing by C. Sundvall (Architect 1754-1831). For the interior of the red salon at Skottorp, Halland 1820 - 1830.
Skottorp's castle is nobly and calmly kept, the interior decoration is particularly stylish and tasteful; above all, the preserved rooms at Skottorp are probably the best that Swedish Empire has achieved.
Exhibitions: National Museum Stockholm 1991-1992: Empire in Sweden.
Good reupholstered condition with wear consistent with age and use.
