Sourcing Program
Not everything a project needs can be found in a showroom. Emerson Bailey began as an interiors practice, and the gallery grew out of years of searching for the pieces our own projects required: the right Gustavian commode, a pair of period fireplace surrounds, reclaimed oak flooring for an entire house.
Those years built the relationships, the buying trips and the freight infrastructure that bring our collection to Montana today. Our Sourcing Program puts that same reach to work for you.
What we source
The program is best suited to specific, well defined needs. Furniture, lighting, art and objects for a particular room or project, when the piece must be the right period, scale and character. And architectural elements, reclaimed flooring, fireplace surrounds, stone sinks, doors and hardware, which cannot sit in a gallery because every project asks for something different. In both cases we bring the same eye, the same relationships and the same logistics, including the inspection, consolidation and shipping that most people find daunting to manage on their own.
How it works
It begins with a conversation. Tell us what you are looking for and where it is going, and we will tell you candidly what we believe can be found and how we would approach it. If we agree to search, we draw on our network of dealers, estates and workshops in Europe and the United States and send you edited options with photographs and condition notes. When a piece is chosen, we handle purchase, restoration where needed, consolidation and freight, as we do for our own collection every season. Terms are agreed together before a search begins, and nothing is purchased without your approval.
For designers and architects
We work alongside you, and quietly. Trade pricing applies, we can source for several projects at once, and your client need not know we were involved unless you wish. If you are not yet a member of our trade program, you can apply here.
For private clients
Whether we are designing your interiors together or you are searching for a single piece, we are glad to help. Often the gallery and our new arrivals already hold what you are looking for; when they do not, this is where the search begins. And if something in our archive has already found a home, tell us about it. We often know where its relatives are.
