Early 1940s Swedish Modern mahogany sideboard with five drawers and shelves in the interior. Attributed to Carl Cederholm for Stil och Form.
Carl Cederholm (b. 1909) graduated from HKS, Tekniska Skolan, now Faculty of Arts in 1940 after three years of study. Shortly afterwards, Cederholm established the company Stil & Form, which in Stockholm's well-situated circles soon became a well-known name with a store at Sturegatan 36, just a stone's throw from Greta Magnusson-Grossman's former store Studio. Stil & Form's production was initially imbued with a characteristic art deco-influenced style, but soon came to breathe Swedish Modern. Despite a certain influence in bourgeois circles, Cederholm's Stil & Form furniture and fixtures were not produced in any large editions.
Good condition with wear consistent with age and use.
