A striking coffee table by Gerard Kuijpers in hot-rolled steel and black marble sourced from Dinant, Belgium. Three individually axled marble blocks rotate around off-center points, allowing them to slide beneath the solid 15mm steel plate or swing outward to expand the table's usable surface — adapting the piece to fit the moment, whether closed in or fully open.
Each marble block is naturally rich with fossil inclusions, making every table one of a kind. Viewed from a distance, the blocks appear to float beneath the graphic simplicity of the steel frame — a few strong lines carrying the entire composition. The table is structurally sound enough to sit on at either end.
