"For the Large Black Console I wanted to avoid to make once more a steel frame as base.
So I placed a massive block of Belgian Black Marble on the ground. The official name is: Noir de Mazy; Mazy is the little village where they do the excavation, and Noir is French for black.
The result is abstract with only 3 elements: 2 massive blocks of marble and one rather thick steel rod. For needs of transportation it was necessary to be able to take both stones apart. The rod is fixed in the upper stone and just posed in a hole in the base. As a consequence the top block can turn around its axe and you can give this massive stone any direction in space you like. It gives a playful aspect to this enormous masculine console"
